Somato-Respiratory Integration

What is Somato-Respiratory Integration (SRI)?

Somato (Body) Respiratory (Breathing) Integration™ (SRI) is a series of exercises designed to help your brain reconnect with your body and its experience. SRI educates you to your body’s rhythms and inner wisdom through your focused attention, gentle breath, touch and movement. It provides you with a means of placing your attention on your body, the vessel of spirit, in a way that works for your healing and empowerment.

SRI exercises (based on Donald Epstein’s book, The 12 Stages of Healing) can help you experience your body and life with greater peace, presence and awareness. SRI not only helps you become more self-aware, but it also provides you with lifetime skills for creating greater trust, safety, strength, and wisdom in relationship to the experience of your body. With SRI, you can learn to instantly shift your state of consciousness, so that regardless of your outer experience or circumstance, your inner experience can be one of peace, strength, and humour.

At Well & Wild, we use SRI exercises combined with NSA care during your Well & Wild sessions. We also teach you to do SRI for yourself to use at home between visits, and we hold regular SRI classes to help you master these empowering, self-healing exercises.

“This work (NSA and SRI) is the epitome of bodywork in our time, the leading edge of body-mind-spirit integration.”
– Dr. Candace Pert, PhD, Professor of Research, Georgetown University School of Medicine, best-selling author of ‘Molecules of Emotion’
